Tips to Revive your Outdoor Timber Furniture

The summer months are finally upon us – which means iced teas, sunscreen, and dusting off old outdoor furniture to be enjoyed once more. Our furniture has remained outside all this time, exposed to the elements, and naturally can develop some mould and stains.

To bring your furniture back to tip-top shape, use Feast Watson’s Woodclean™ and Outdoor Furniture Oil in Clear. These products can be used for regular care and maintenance of outdoor timber furniture.

  • Woodclean is a powerful, oxalic acid-based product that helps remove oils, mould, stains, and tannins from new and weathered timber to create a blank canvas for your restoration plans.
  • Outdoor Furniture Oil is made to protect your outdoor furniture against every move in nature’s playbook. Its protective, penetrating formula with added eucalyptus oil is the best defense against the elements.

Preparation with Woodclean™

1. Clean your surface and rinse well.

2. Dilute the product (1-part Woodclean to 4-parts water) and make sure you mix it well.

3. With a broom or stiff bristle brush, apply the mixture to the now dampened timber and scrub vigorously.

4. Let the solution penetrate for 20 minutes.

5. Rinse well with high-pressure water.

6. Wait for the surface to dry completely before applying other products.

Protection with Feast Watson Outdoor Furniture Oil

7. Ensure the product is mixed well before and during application to ensure a uniform colour. If you are using more than one can, combine them and mix well before starting.

8. With a quality brush, apply the first coat. Be sure to work in sections and apply in the direction of the grain. Pay special attention to your edges and end grain, making sure they are fully coated. If you’re using a spray, be sure to back brush for even distribution.

9. Get yourself a refreshing beverage while you wait for the oil to penetrate.

10. Once the beverage has been drunk, wipe off any excess product with a clean cloth or brush.

11. Let it dry for 12 hours before you apply a second coat.
