Renewing an old timber piece instead of disposing of it means you have a chance of adding something inherently different to your home’s décor while being kinder to the environment.
You can get these pieces from garage sales, or your local op-shop and they offer the buyer a chance to create a piece that they can claim as their own.
@the.little.key shows us coffee table upcycling ideas using Feast Watson’s Prooftint.
1. Get yourself a used timber coffee table that shows promise
2. Clean the piece and fill in any dents
3. Sand the surface to bare timber to remove any existing coating
4. There is a long list of Prooftint colours at your disposal. With that colour, use a brush or cloth and apply the product evenly over the coffee table’s surface. Add more coats until you achieve the depth of colour that you want.
5. For contrast, paint the bottom portion of the table.
6. Once the product is dry, you can seal the surface. Get some of Feast Watson’s Wipe-On Poly and apply it onto the coffee table. Note: Make sure to shake the product well before use and apply it in the direction of the grain.
7. Let Wipe-On Poly dry for six hours before you start styling the coffee table.
