Ideas for Upcycling your old Cabinet into a Home Bar

Looking to be more sustainable in your day to day? One way to do that is by getting your furniture second-hand. On top of reducing waste, it is a fiscally responsible choice to buy pre-loved items.
Furniture to upcycle is easy enough to get as well, whether it be from your local Op Shop, TradeMe, or the Facebook Marketplace, you are spoiled for choice.
But sometimes these pieces need a bit of loving, and for that, you can use Feast Watson products to upcycle an old cabinet and make it look as good as new.
Lucy has turned a rough-looking cabinet into a lovely home bar. Let’s see how she did it.

Preparing the cabinet

This vintage cabinet was looking a little worse for wear but throw in persistence and an electric sander and you can give that cabinet a smooth surface that’d make a baby’s bottom jealous.

Oiling up the exterior surfaces

Feast Watson’s Scandinavian Oil is just the thing for this cabinet’s exterior. Just apply two coats with a clean rag. For best results, wait 24 hours between coats.

Final touches

Internal shelves get some love with Feast Watsons’s Prooftint in Black Japan, the back of the cabinet gets a mirror, and the cabinet is topped off with a piece of decadent green marble to bring this project to a close.
